Biography

A Life Shaped by Mountains & Rivers

Mayank Sindhwal grew up surrounded by the peaks, meadows, and river valleys of Uttarakhand. Long before Chaukhamba View Camps existed, he spent years guiding treks, hosting travelers, and learning what people truly need after a long day on the trail — warmth, honest food, clean comfort, and a place that feels like home.

What began as conversations around campfires and shared meals along the Ganga slowly became a vision: a family-run camp where every guest is treated like family. Today, that vision lives in every tent pitched, every meal served, and every sunrise watched from the riverside deck.

Known to guests as a friendly, hands-on host, Mayank works closely with his team — including local cooks and guides — to ensure each stay is personal, grounded, and deeply connected to the landscape around Chopta and the greater Himalayan region.

Philosophy

The mountains do not rush — and neither should our guests. Every stay should leave you rested, inspired, and connected to this place.

For Mayank, hospitality is not a service — it is a responsibility. He believes travelers deserve transparency, local knowledge, and stays that respect both the environment and the communities nearby.

Whether you are here for trekking, rafting, a family holiday, or simply to breathe fresh mountain air, the goal is the same: help you experience Uttarakhand authentically, comfortably, and at your own pace.

Authentic Stays

A lifelong connection to Uttarakhand drives every decision — from how we welcome guests to how we protect the landscapes we call home.

Every trail, every campfire, and every sunrise over Chaukhamba is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and experience the mountains the way they were meant to be felt.
