Our Story
Chaukhamba View Camps began with a simple idea on the banks of the Ganga — that travelers exploring Uttarakhand deserved more than a place to sleep. They deserved a home in the mountains.
What started as welcoming trekkers and families to a few riverside tents near Chopta grew through word of mouth, campfire conversations, and a commitment to honest Garhwali hospitality. Guests returned with friends. Guides recommended us. Slowly, a small camp became a destination.
Today we are still family-run, still rooted in the same valley, and still guided by the belief that the best stays are personal — built on warm hosts, clean comfort, local food, and views that remind you why you came to the Himalayas in the first place.
